The mission of the Corrigan Municipal Court is to serve the community through the promotion of justice by providing an impartial forum for the resolution of all cases brought before the court in a manner such that legal rights of individuals are safeguarded and public interest is protected.
The Municipal Court is responsible for the disposition of Class C misdemeanors and other state and city ordinance violations which are punishable by fine only.
Corrigan Municipal Court has jurisdiction over Class C Misdemeanor criminal cases, including traffic violations, with a maximum fine upon conviction does not exceed $500.00 plus court costs. The Court also has jurisdiction over cases involving City ordinances, which may have fines up to $2,000 plus court costs.
Stating on January 15th 2021, the Corrigan Municipal court will begin a Amnesty program for those that have multiple tickets. Under this program the court will dismiss the Failure to Appear charges if all other violations are paid in full. The court will continue this program until March 1st 2021.
The Municipal Court does not handle divorce cases, child support, marriage licenses, or birth certificates.
THE DRESS CODE AND RULES ARE STRICTLY ENFORCED. THE DEFENDANT WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE COURT AND RETURN IF NOT IN COMPLIANCE WITH THIS CODE.
Clothing should be consistent with the seriousness and dignity of the judicial process. It should be constructed and worn in such a manner that it is not unduly revealing or offensive.
A telephone call does not constitute an appearance.
THE FOLLOWING WILL NOT BE PERMITTED IN THE COURTROOM:
NO TANK, HALTER, TUBE TOPS OR SHORTS
NO CAPS HATS OR SUNGLASSES
NO EXPOSED UNDERGARMENTS/PANTS ARE TO BE WORN AT THE WAIST.
NO CELL PHONES OR PAGERS
NO FOOD OR DRINKS
NO CLOTHING WITH OFFENSIVE, VULGAR, RACIST, SEXIST, OBSCENE, OR SUGGESTIVE WORDS, SLOGANS, DEPICTIONS OR PICTURES.
NO PANTS THAT ARE TATTERED, SHREDDED OR THAT EXPOSE SKIN.

Commercial Driver License Holders are not eligible for Driving Safety Course or Deferred Disposition.
